Design Case Study
Alo Moves

The yoga video arm of athleisure attire company, Alo Yoga, the Alo Moves platform offers a library of on-demand videos and social community. This was far and away the most comprehensive project I’ve ever been involved with.
After Alo Yoga acquired Cody, a yoga video and community company, a brand and site alignment was needed. We developed a simplified and restrained design language aligned with Alo Yoga’s existing style.
Extrapolating on this foundation, I fleshed out the website, modifying or reinventing elements as needed to suit various applications. Making iterations of the home page, ways to navigate and filter the large video library, individual video page, playlists, signed-in and signed-out versions of all those pages, membership purchasing, a complete in-app social network with profiles, messaging, uploading photos, notifications, privacy settings, payment pages, user settings, and so many more. Then, making mobile versions of all that, which translated into app versions. It was a wonderfully deep project!
I implemented comprehensive aesthetic and usability updates across the brand, website, and apps (Android, iOS, and tvOS). Working at a brisk startup pace, my team and I brainstormed, prototyped, designed, and built new features, continuously evaluating their impact.
In addition to UI design, I focused on user experiences through whiteboarding sessions, in-person user testing, and phone interviews. I collaborated closely with our developers to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience.
Ride that wave to your new project!
